    Grasshopper Coffee Table Triple

After the success of the 2004 Divina Collection, Knoll and Lissoni came together to introduce the Grasshopper Tables. Together, with the KN Collection and Avio Sofa System, the designs reflect Lissoni’s nuanced sense of proportion and minimal aesthetic.

Originally debuted at Salone del Mobile 2017, the Grasshopper Tables – which come in a high and low version – boast a clear, geometric aesthetic and visual weightlessness characteristic of Lissoni’s versatile style. Of the designs, Lissoni commented, “Grasshopper borrows its name from the animal that has precision tools for legs...Equally long, incredible and perfectly functional. Above them sits a top so thin that it looks [as if it is] able to life and take to the air.”

Piero Lissoni began his career as a furniture designer after receiving his degree in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano. In 1986 he founded his own studio, which specialized in architecture, furniture, interiors, and graphic design. , and produced a diverse architecture portfolio that included designs for showrooms, yachts, private residences and hotels.

In 2004 Knoll introduced Pierro Lissoni’s Divina Lounge Collection, originally designed for his longtime client, Living Divina. Two years later, he and his studio’s design manager, Marc Krusin, co-designed the wa office system for Knoll International. With no predetermined connection points, the brilliantly simple design featured a patented 360 degree clip mechanism allowing any component to be attached to any workstation, on any side.
